About the Role

As a Freelance Financial Controller with our client in the international freight forwarding industry, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial stability and success of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established company that offers worldwide import/export freight forwarding and nationwide customs clearance and delivery services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full function of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage daily cash flow, conduct foreign currency purchases
  • Process Foreign Currency Payments
  • Perform weekly customer analysis in terms of credit limit and terms
  • Process client refunds, staff expenses claims, manage corporate credit card and reconcile expenditure
  • Month-end processes, reporting and analysing
  • Manage prepayments and accruals
  • Balance Sheets – in consultation with external accountants at year end
  • Profit and Loss – in consultation with external accountants at year end
  • End of year tax statements – in consultation with external accountants at year end (incl journals)
  • BAS
  • WIPS/Accruals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require recent experience working in a relevant Accounts/Bookkeeping role within the international freight forwarding industry. Experience with Cargowise operating system is essential. You must also be an Australian resident, as this position is only open to individuals with the right to work in Australia.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive benefits such as opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
