Part-time Senior Social Worker Role

The role of the Senior Social Worker is to provide comprehensive social work services to patients, families, and carers in an acute hospital environment. This includes conducting psychosocial assessments, case management, crisis intervention, strengths-based and solution-focused counselling, and end-of-life care and bereavement counselling.
- Provide person-centred care and continuity of psychosocial assessment, risk-management, support, and counselling to inpatients at the Mater Hospital.
- Facilitate complex care and discharge planning, guiding psychosocial interventions, and ensuring a high level of social work practice is maintained consistent with professional standards as defined by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with evidence of clinical experience in a hospital or health-related field as a practicing Social Worker.
- Substantial post-graduate private or public hospital experience.
