Medical Instrument Specialist Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Medical Instrument Specialist to join our Perioperative Services team in a casual position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sterilisation support to the theatres by cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising reusable medical instruments and equipment within established procedures.
  • Work within designated protocols to ensure requirements are met, and services provided by other consumers are maintained.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation Services for Grade 3 or 4 Levels. For Grades 1 or 2, relevant experience is desirable.
  • Prior experience working in a CSSD team environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the role of a Medical Instrument Specialist.
  • Proficiency complying with standards of practice and demonstrated accountability for actions in all aspects of the work environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
