
Nurse Educator

Summary:
This role guides learners toward desired outcomes by training programs that focus on departmental teaching, SIM, and didactic classes. The ideal candidate will create plans, implement, and coordinate orientation for new nurses, evaluate compliance with required documentation, serve as a resource for clinical inquiry, research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements comprehensive nursing professional development programs to meet the educational needs of nurses at all levels of practice.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in nursing professional development, providing guidance and support to nurses in their career advancement.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to identify learning needs, develop curricula, and deliver educational programs.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Stays current with best practices in nursing professional development, applying evidence-based knowledge to inform program design and delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Two years of nursing experience, preferably in a leadership or education role.
- Current valid Florida State of Nursing license as a registered professional nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification.
- Advanced Life Support Provider Certification per specialty.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing or related field.
- Prior experience as a preceptor educator.
- Previous teaching experience in formal or informal settings.
- Experience in specialty area applying for.
- Certification as Nursing Professional Development Educator.
