Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

As a nursing professional development practitioner, you will be part of a community that believes in the wholeness of each individual and serves to uplift others in body, mind, and spirit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement comprehensive orientation programs for new nursing staff.
  • Monitor and report compliance with required documentation for orientation, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Evaluate and improve the nursing unit/department orientation process based on healthcare trends, learning needs, and organizational goals, driving continuous quality improvement.
  • Serve as a valuable resource for clinical inquiry, identifying potential projects and providing subject matter expertise to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify problems and solutions, creating and implementing changes that drive positive outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of experience in nursing, with a strong foundation in clinical practice and patient care.
  • Current, valid Florida State of Nursing license as a registered professional nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification, demonstrating competence in emergency response and patient care.
  • Advanced Life Support Provider Certification, per specialty, showcasing expertise in critical care and patient management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, facilitating effective communication and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field, enhancing leadership and advanced practice skills.
  • Prior experience as a preceptor/educator, mentoring and guiding new staff members in their professional development.
  • Previous teaching experience in formal or informal settings, demonstrating ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Experience in a specialty area, applying theoretical knowledge and practical skills to real-world challenges.
  • Certification as a Nursing Professional Development Educator, recognizing expertise in education and training.
  • Certification in clinical or educator specialties, highlighting commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Basic or advanced life support instructor certification, depending on specialty, underscoring ability to train and educate others.
