About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our dynamic team at QBE Insurance Group Limited. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in underwriting business in alignment with our strategic goals, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and service standards within your delegated authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite complex risks in accordance with defined limits of authority, organisational policy, and underwriting standards.
  • Plan and implement strategies to attract and retain high-value customers while improving underperforming policies.
  • Provide underwriting advice, coaching, and technical support to team members to enhance individual knowledge and ensure excellent client service alongside a profitable portfolio.
  • Monitor client and market requirements, conduct client calls and visits for feedback.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisational guidelines.
  • Deliver efficient, timely service and problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Manager Partnerships team to engage proactively and work on strategic plans to grow the business within targeted customer segments.
About You

To be successful in this Underwriting role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Underwriter.
  • Broad insurance industry knowledge.
  • Established skills in customer relationship management and communication.
  • Understanding of relevant Insurance market conditions.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use for decision making.
  • Relevant problem-solving and negotiation skills.
