Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee the testing, evaluation and development of explosive products and ballistic systems at our site in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that these products meet performance, safety and regulatory standards.

The role involves technical work requiring knowledge both routine and non-routine as required for chemical and instrumental analysis.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical work involving chemical and instrumental analysis
  • Supervise, train and assist team members engaged in analytical procedures on propellants, ballistics, cast composite and high explosives
  • Supervise, train and mentor team members involved in test & trial site activities
  • Develop and implement Quality Control techniques
  • Ensure compliance with safe working practices and maintenance operations within the work area
  • Function as an ISO/IEC 17025 signatory where applicable
  • Undertake duties as a Clearance Officer for area of responsibility
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Certified Workplace Trainer & Assessor (desirable)
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory calibrations, standardization procedures and quality control techniques
  • Explosive Licence (Unsupervised Handling) & Shotfirer certification (desirable)
  • Availability to work site based
