Chaplaincy Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and competent chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to community aged care clients in the Canberra Region ACT/NSW.

The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in chaplaincy/pastoral care or theological qualifications with a willingness to undertake chaplaincy/pastoral care specific training within the first 12 months of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit clients in their homes or in hospital, and provide high-quality person-centred chaplaincy/pastoral care that aligns with BaptistCare's Purpose and Values.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate person-centred spiritual care initiatives in accordance with professional codes and standards of conduct.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Facilitate safe and welcoming spaces which provide a sense of community and belonging.
  • Treat all clients with equity, respect, and dignity.

Requirements:

  • A personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith.
  • Ability to recognise the spiritual and pastoral needs of clients.
  • Active involvement in and recommendation from a local Christian Church.
  • Chaplaincy or pastoral care experience.
  • Experience working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary settings.

About This Role:

This is a permanent part-time role offering 60.8 hours per fortnight with flexible workdays.
