Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join our team on a part-time basis based on the Gold Coast. As an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), you will be delivering Family Dispute Resolution services to our clients.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated understanding of the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners Regulations within the Family Law Act and possess well-developed skills in domestic and family violence, child safety, and mental health. They will also have experience in intake, risk assessment, case management, and referral pathways, crisis intervention, Domestic Violence Order assistance, and safety planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating Family Dispute Resolution sessions on parenting or property matters via joint session, shuttle, telephone, or online.
  • Assessing, referring, or delivering child inclusive family dispute resolution as required.
  • Providing case management, information, and referrals to families progressing through the family dispute resolution process, including issuing s60(I) certificates.
  • Facilitating psycho-educational or information group sessions.
  • Completing client suitability assessments for family dispute resolution.
  • Completing client intake, including initial and ongoing risk assessment/s and safety planning.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social, or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution. They must also be registered as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department, possess Australian Working Rights, hold a Blue Card (or be willing to apply), and have a National Police Check (or be willing to apply).
