Family Conflict Resolution Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Family Conflict Resolution Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. As an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you will deliver family conflict resolution services to clients.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate family conflict resolution sessions via joint session, shuttle, telephone, or online.
  • Assess, refer, or deliver child-inclusive family dispute resolution as required.
  • Provide case management, information, and referrals to families progressing through the family dispute resolution process.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational or information group sessions.
  • Complete client suitability assessments for family dispute resolution.
  • Complete client intake, including initial and ongoing risk assessment/s and safety planning.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners Regulations within the Family Law Act is essential.
  • Well-developed understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act, and Family Law Act, as well as the issues and impacts on families engaged in these systems.
  • Demonstrated delivery of a well-developed practice framework for domestic and family violence and its connection with child safety, family law, mental health.
  • Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management, and referral pathways, crisis intervention, domestic violence order assistance, and safety planning.
  • Well-developed written communication skills, including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry, and computer literacy.
  • Highly effective communication with strong interpersonal skills and ability to advocate for clients' needs with other statutory organizations/departments.
  • Have a high degree of professionalism and integrity in working with clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in delivering group psycho-educational programs.
  • An understanding of how separation and conflict may impact families and children post-separation, including both parenting and property-related matters, is desirable.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognized institution (including eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, PACFA, or ACA) is essential.
  • Evidence of current registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department.
  • Australian Working Rights.
  • Blue Card (or willing to apply).
  • National Police Check (or willing to apply).
