**Homework Support Volunteer Role**

The Homework Club is a program designed to support school-aged students from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

We provide a safe and inclusive environment for students to receive tutoring and guidance from volunteer tutors. Our aim is to assist students in improving their educational opportunities and supporting them in their academic journey.

As a Homework Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our goals. Your responsibilities will include preparing the tutoring site settings, ensuring students and tutors sign in and out correctly, liaising with parents, supervising students and supporting volunteer tutors as required, supporting the Homework Coordinator as needed, and assisting in gathering forms and general administration duties.

  • Open-mindedness and curiosity while maintaining appropriate boundaries with young people
  • Willingsness to work in a community setting
  • Ability to work as part of a team of volunteers
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Other duties, as may be required
  • Understanding and sympathy with the mission and ethos of our organization
  • Compliance with relevant legislation including our organization's policies and procedure
  • Valid Working with Children Check
