Project Coordinator Role

This is a key role responsible for leading and managing the delivery phase of road and transport projects within our capital works program.

The role requires the implementation of recognised project management principles, including procurement, stakeholder communication, construction surveillance, and monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing procurement processes to ensure compliance with relevant purchasing legislation and policies.
  • Assembling tender and quotation packages, chairing tender panels for submission evaluation, and reporting outcomes to senior management with recommendations for contract awards.
  • Administering contracts, acting as Superintendent/Superintendent's Representative, and controlling all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
  • Collaborating with Asset Planning staff to ensure project objectives are achieved through effective planning and design.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve business and service delivery processes.
  • Fostering a culture of team engagement and facilitating mentoring and coaching of team members.
  • Planning, monitoring, and managing the team to achieve performance targets and business plan initiatives.
  • Providing high-level specialised engineering advice to the Council and/or senior management.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. A degree or postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of experience in delivering complex projects and managing contractors.
  2. A White Card - General Construction Induction.
  3. A valid NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
  4. Extensive experience in project management, including budgeting, finance, tender development, contract specifications, procurement, and contract administration.
  5. Expert knowledge of engineering design and construction standards, codes of practice, contract law, and associated legislation.
