Category Management Opportunity

About the Role:
  • This is a critical position responsible for the full lifecycle of category management from strategy development and sourcing through to contract execution and supplier performance.
  • The successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial outcomes, optimising supply chain performance, and supporting the delivery of high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and manage category strategies and plans aligned with business needs and market dynamics.
  2. Procurement Activities: Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including planning, sourcing, evaluation, contract negotiation, and award.
  3. Contract Lifecycle: Oversee the full contract lifecycle including performance monitoring, compliance assurance, and risk mitigation.
  4. Seller Relationships: Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, implementing supplier relationship management (SRM) strategies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  5. Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market and spend analysis to inform strategic decisions and optimise value.
  6. Data Analytics: Create and manage dashboards, reports, and analytics models to support category performance tracking.
  7. ESG Principles: Integrate ESG principles and total cost of ownership (TCO) thinking into procurement decisions.
  8. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate realisation of intended business benefits through strategic sourcing and stakeholder engagement.
  9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong background in procurement, category management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven ability to deliver commercial value, cost optimisation, and operational efficiencies through strategic procurement.
  • Skilled in contract development, negotiation, and management.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and spend data to influence strategy and decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of procurement governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
