At the Catholic Schools Office Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, we are seeking a visionary Religious Education Coordinator to join our team in a Temporary Full-Time position. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and inspiring leader to shape the spiritual journey of our school community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and affirming the Catholic culture, identity, and mission of our schools. As a member of the school executive team, they will support the Principal and Parish Priest in fostering an inclusive, dynamic environment where every student's unique gifts and potential are celebrated.

We are looking for a practising Catholic with a strong commitment to their Eucharistic community and exemplary values and attitudes appropriate to professional practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven capacity to build links between the school and its broader parish community and promote faith formation within the community.

The selected individual will have high-level knowledge and understanding of the relevant Religious Education Frameworks and the Diocesan (K–6) RE Syllabus. They will be able to develop and shape a shared vision focused on providing quality educational experiences and learning outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • To promote and affirm the Catholic culture, identity, and mission of our schools.
  • To support the Principal and Parish Priest in fostering an inclusive, dynamic environment.
  • To develop and implement pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes.
  • To build links between the school and its broader parish community.
  • To promote faith formation within the community.
Requirements
  • A four-year trained teacher classification with at least four years successful teaching experience consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation.
  • Working with Children Clearance number.
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training.
  • AWTL appropriate to your current position.
