About the Role

Datacom is seeking a highly skilled SOE Engineer to join our Endpoint Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, supporting, and continuously improving end-user solutions end-to-end, enabling our customers to transform their business and modernize their end-user experience.

You will problem-solve technical issues for customers, demonstrating how our products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative. With a focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience, you will manage the day-to-day operations of our customers' endpoint systems with minimal direction and engage in project work when required.

We place a high degree of focus on developing our staff internally and offer financial incentives for engineers who certify in the technologies we use to support our customers.

This role is open in all our Datacom offices in Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney).

Please note that to be successful in this role, you would need to be an AU Citizen with baseline clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, support, and continuously improve end-user solutions end-to-end
  • Problem-solve technical issues for customers
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of our customers' endpoint systems
  • Engage in project work when required
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, including SCCM and Intune
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Develop and maintain scripting skills in PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch
  • Experience with Windows 10 task sequencing and endpoint configuration
  • Experience with facilitating large and enterprise-scale software deployments
  • Maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of environment-wide configurations, including user policies, device policies, security policies, firmware, drivers, and automation scripts through enterprise-grade endpoint management platforms (Intune/SCCM)
  • 2 years' experience in Citrix Image Management mandatory
  • Ensure outstanding levels of customer satisfaction by demonstrating timely, professional, and attentive responses to customers and colleagues
  • Operate in, and contribute to, the winning culture of a high-performing team
  • Identify service improvements, efficiencies, and/or cost reductions for Datacom customers
  • Follow best practice methodologies and adhere to recognized ITIL processes (e.g., change/release)
  • Perform upgrades on applicable hardware and operating systems as required/requested
  • Provide maintenance and enhancements of deployed desktop operating system images (physical and virtual)
  • Assist with projects as required
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in SOE migrations, projects, and implementation
  • Provide continuous high-quality upkeep of supporting documentation, such as designs, as-builts, how-tos, environment reporting, risk registers, tickets, and roadmap lifecycles
What You Will Bring

You will have 5 years' IT industry experience, preferably within an IT managed service provider, with approximately 3 years' experience in a similar SOE Engineer role. You will possess exceptional knowledge of Windows 10, 11, and good working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP, AD, DHP, DNS, certificate services, and enterprise applications.

You will have exceptional skills in endpoint management platforms, System Centre Configuration Manager, Intune, and Virtual Desktops. You will bring exceptional troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and prioritization skills, and will be comfortable and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

You will be comfortable with rapid change and be available to travel to Datacom, customer sites, and conferences when required.
