Meat Department Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our meat department in Gladstone. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, this successful applicant will be responsible for managing a small team, creating rosters, generating orders, completing stock takes, and more.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for butchery and leadership to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced supermarket environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a small team of butchers to ensure efficient sales and customer satisfaction
- Create and manage rosters to meet business needs
- Generate and control orders to maintain optimal stock levels
- Complete regular stock takes to ensure accurate inventory management
- Australian trade qualification in Butchery (essential)
- Fresh food retail knowledge desirable
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Ability to order and control costs
- An excellent understanding of gross profit calculations
- Accurate team rostering
- Passion and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to liaise with both team members and management
- A flair for merchandising and visual display
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Ability to coach, train, and performance manage teams
