Leader of Digital Technologies and Innovation
### Job Description
The Leader of Digital Technologies and Innovation is a key position that plays a pivotal role in driving the adoption of digital technologies within our school community.
As a member of our leadership team, you will work closely with senior leaders to promote our school as a place of learning and excellence, with a specific focus on leveraging digital technologies to drive innovation.
You will mentor and support teachers in developing their capacity to use digital technologies to improve teacher practice and enhance student learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop professional learning opportunities for teachers to maximize the effective use of Canvas (LMS), Microsoft teaching and learning tools.
- Collaborate with teams of teachers to co-plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate learning experiences, including analyzing data from learning platforms to inform instructional decisions.
- Provide guidance and support to individual classroom teachers through modeling, co-teaching, observation, and feedback.
- Facilitate IT networking and learning opportunities for families, students, and staff.
- Promote healthy digital habits and responsible digital wellbeing among our school community.
- Conduct digital technologies bootcamps for students, families, and staff at the beginning of the year and during induction points.
- Support all Leaders of Learning to foster a strong culture of digital technologies integration.
- Establish a staff professional learning and networking culture centered around IT to enhance staff knowledge and practice.
- Liaise with the Senior Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning and the Assistant Principal - New Ambitions and Innovation to develop a professional learning calendar.
- Lead research and development efforts to integrate emerging technologies aligned with our school's vision.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Team and the IT Manager to develop and communicate IT-related policies and procedures.
- Consult regularly with the Assistant Principal - New Ambitions and Innovation and IT Manager regarding hardware and software purchases and rollouts.
- Participate in the IT Steering Committee.
### Required Skills and Qualifications
- A clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education values and the MSC ethos.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic digital innovation learning initiatives.
- Ability to contribute to a culture of collegiality and reflective practice.
- Capacity to identify and leverage new digital innovation and learning experiences to ensure high standards of technology integration.
- Expertise in supporting teachers to effectively integrate technology into their classrooms.
- Commitment to modeling and promoting contemporary and innovative teaching practices.
- Ability to create and lead effective professional learning opportunities and build the capacity of teachers as leaders in learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Please note that all teachers appointed to our school are required to uphold an extracurricular commitment which includes coaching two afternoons per week and attending Saturday activities.
