Community Engagement Lead

We are seeking a skilled Community Engagement Lead to play a key role in our transition to renewables.

The successful candidate will bring their negotiation skills to the fore and work closely with stakeholders to deliver community engagement plans.

The role involves leading on-ground engagement, implementing shared value and investment mechanisms, identifying emerging issues, and representing us at community forums and stakeholder engagements.

About the Role:

  • Lead the execution of our Community Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
  • Ensure consistent, transparent and culturally respectful engagement across the region.
  • Build strong relationships with landholders, community groups, local government, Traditional Owners and regional institutions.
  • Resolve community complaints and grievances in conjunction with our social performance team.
  • Assess host community needs, assess risks and develop delivery and mitigation plans or policies which meet both stakeholder and our needs.
  • Assess performance indicators of community investment mechanisms in place and recommend changes as required.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or social performance within regional and/or infrastructure project environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • The ability to navigate complex or sensitive discussions.
  • Sound judgement and problem solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and coordinate effective resolution.
  • Confident public speaker and facilitator with the ability to engage diverse audiences in formal and informal settings.
  • Commitment to values-based engagement, inclusion and long-term regional benefit.
