Job Overview

Main responsibilities include maintaining high standards of health records and delivering efficient services to internal departments and external organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scanning health record documents accurately into the Scanned Health Record System (SHRS).
  • Preparing and verifying documents for scanning in SHRS.
  • Performing quality control on scanned documents.
  • Correcting identified anomalies in SHRS.
  • Responding to inquiries from other departments and external organizations regarding patient information requests.
  • Maintaining up-to-date doctor and practice databases.
  • Filing and disposing of health records.
  • Monitoring the health record tracking system for all record movements.
  • Collecting and sorting mail.
  • Liaising with secondary storage contractors for the retrieval and return of health records.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, combined with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail are essential.

The ability to use email, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is necessary. Experience using Web Patient Administration System (WebPAS) and/or a Scanned Medical Record is desirable.
