
Risk Management Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in growing the corporate risk management capability by providing independent, objective, and ethical leadership. The successful candidate will contribute to the governance framework by monitoring the risk management framework, financial reporting processes, compliance, performance of auditors, and the audit program.

Risk Management and Audit Committee (RMAC):
The RMAC is established in accordance with section 86 of the Local Government Act NT. The purpose of RMAC is to provide independent assurance and assistance to the Council and the Chief Executive Officer in matters relating to the risk management framework, financial reporting processes, compliance, performance of auditors, and the audit program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent oversight and monitoring of the audit processes and risk management practices
- Monitor the risk management framework, financial reporting processes, compliance, performance of auditors, and the audit program
- Contribute to the development of recommendations for improving the risk management framework and audit processes
- Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements:
- A thorough understanding of the committee's position in the legal and governance framework
- Relevant personal qualities, skills, and experience within the risk and audit sector
- Experience in asset management and change management
- The ability to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
