
Risk Management Leader

The City of Darwin's Risk Management and Audit Committee (RMAC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to provide independent leadership in the field of risk management.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the governance framework, providing Council with independent oversight and monitoring of audit processes and risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures;
- Ensure the effective functioning of the Risk Management and Audit Committee;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Councillors, senior executives and external auditors;
- Monitor and report on audit outcomes and compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks that may impact the organization's goals and objectives.
To be eligible for this role, applicants should have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in risk management or a related field;
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels;
- Sound knowledge of risk management principles, policies and procedures.
The City of Darwin offers a competitive remuneration package, including a salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, plus superannuation and other benefits.
