About the Role

The Head of Compliance ANZ is responsible for implementing, managing, and overseeing compliance with local regulatory requirements and Assurant's Corporate Compliance programs in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage effective relationships with regulators such as APRA, ASIC, RBNZ, FMA, and ACCC.
  • Develop and maintain the ANZ Branch Compliance Manual and ensure it's updated to meet regulatory and licence conditions changes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a 2nd line ANZ Assurance plan covering all business lines.
  • Ensure local adoption and oversight of the Assurant Corporate Compliance program, including trade sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption protocols.
  • Engage with Corporate Compliance on the implementation of trade compliance controls for the ANZ market.
  • Perform due diligence and ongoing oversight for vendors, buyers, and aggregators connected with the ANZ business.
  • Manage the internal and dispute resolution process for ANZ.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in business, finance, commerce, or a relevant discipline.
  • 7+ years' experience in a Compliance Officer or Manager role or other comparable experienced professional.
  • Experience within a niche or composite insurance company, bank, or professional services firm.
  • Membership of a professional body such as the GRC Institute for compliance professionals.
  • At least 7 years' experience with APRA and ASIC frameworks.
  • Previous experience at a management level in a Financial/Insurance or Professional Services organization.
