Medical Officer Role in Sexual Assault Service

This is a medical officer position within our sexual assault service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical care and forensic services to victims of sexual assault.

About the Position

This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services for optimal client outcomes. You will be required to work on-call, responding within a two hour time frame to designated hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely response to clients requiring immediate medical and/or forensic intervention following the disclosure of sexual assault.
  • Work as part of a 24/7 on-call roster.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner.
  • A recognised qualification and appropriate training in Sexual Assault and Forensic Examination or willingness to undertake relevant training course.
  • Demonstrated experience and recency of clinical practice of a high standard in relevant clinical areas.
  • Demonstrated high level and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
