Job Opportunity

A senior medical practitioner is required to join a supportive and palliative care team at a hospital.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork, education and research. They should be passionate about delivering exceptional supportive and palliative care to a diverse community.

As part of the multidisciplinary team, the successful appointee will work closely with specialist physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients and their families. This includes managing complex symptomatology, providing end-of-life care and supporting bereaved individuals.

The team also engages in teaching and research, offering opportunities for professional growth and development. The successful applicant will contribute to these activities, enhancing their skills and expertise in the field.

Additionally, the appointee will have the opportunity to work in a dual appointment capacity, splitting their time between supportive and palliative care and renal supportive care. This unique arrangement will enable them to develop a deeper understanding of both areas and make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Key qualifications for the role include holding Fellowships in Medicine (FRACP) and Palliative Medicine (FAChPM). The appointee will work collaboratively with clinicians from various disciplines, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality care. Applicants who expect to achieve Fellowship within six months may be considered, but will need to meet the necessary requirements before commencing their appointment.
