About the Role

Mission Australia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team in Grafton, NSW. As a key member of our North Coast psychosocial support services, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 15-25 who are experiencing psychosocial challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create personalized recovery plans with young people and their support networks.
  • Provide one-on-one and group work sessions to young people in schools and communities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client files.
  • Conduct educational sessions for families and community groups.
  • Help clients develop skills for harm reduction and recovery.
  • Liaise with colleagues and external agencies for client advocacy and referrals.
  • Conduct post-program follow-ups to gauge satisfaction and offer re-engagement.
Requirements for Success
  • Relevant Youth Work or Community Services qualification preferred.
  • Experience working with at-risk young people using culturally safe and inclusive practices.
  • Working knowledge of adolescent mental health issues.
  • Knowledge of case management.
  • Good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work from a culturally informed and strengths-based framework.
  • Good conflict resolution skills.
  • Resilience, solution-focused, and creative approach to challenges, with strong professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold a valid Driver's Licence.
  • Senior First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
