As a Youth Officer with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, you will play a critical role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of young people into society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support young people in custody, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Respond to challenging situations and maintain a safe and secure environment for young people and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement programs that promote the skills and well-being of young people.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support the effective management of Youth Justice Centres.

Requirements

  • Meet citizenship or residency requirements.
  • Possession of a minimum Provisional 2 NSW driver's licence.
  • National Background Police Check.
  • NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
  • Possession or willingness to obtain the 'Provide First Aid Certificate' (HLTAID003).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Medical and Fitness Assessment to determine fitness for duty.
