Autism-Focused School Drop-Off Support Specialist

Our organization is seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to assist a teenager with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the school drop-off process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing transportation to the participant from her home in Bayswater
  • Creating a calm and friendly atmosphere during the short drive to school
  • Ensuring a safe and timely school pick-up, while being mindful of any sensory sensitivities
  • Accompanying participants to some appointments within the two-hour shift, if required

Requirements for the role include:

Essential Skills:
  • Experience working with individuals with ASD or other neurodivergent conditions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Punctuality and reliability in meeting scheduled commitments
  • Confident driving abilities and ownership of a clean, fully-insured vehicle
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • First Aid & CPR certification
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
