A pioneering role is available for an accomplished lawyer to play a pivotal part in driving the transition to net zero energy solutions.

This high-impact position involves advising on renewable energy transactions and projects, as well as providing strategic legal support to the team.

As a key member of our team, your expertise will be leveraged in negotiating commercial matters, including:

  • EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements
  • Land acquisitions and planning approvals
  • General commercial contracts and matters, including NDAs, consultancy agreements, services agreements, and disputes

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice on energy or infrastructure projects in Australia
  • Experience in large or specialized law firms and/or experience in-house at an energy or infrastructure company
  • Demonstrated ability advising on regulatory matters, including FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licenses, Critical Infrastructure, Anti-Money Laundering, and Counter-Terrorism Finance
  • Proven ability to prioritize and progress legal matters, escalate issues where needed, and ensure all decision-makers are identified and briefed as appropriate
  • Capability to manage external legal advisors, including managing the allocation of resources and skills between internal and external counsel
  • Demonstrated commitment to driving continual improvement across the business by assisting with the design and use of precedent contracts, adopting new processes with a focus on simplification, and delivering training to the team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust messages for a range of audiences
  • Ability to influence outcomes independent of hierarchy
  • Strong conceptual thinking/strategic analysis skills
  • Ability to apply legal and business experience to appropriately prioritize effort and characterize risk
  • Flexibility to handle a diverse range of matters across all Business Units
