Drill and Blast Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering, with a focus on designing safe and efficient drill and blast patterns.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining blasting schedules, records, and reporting systems. They will also work closely with the mining and geology teams to align blast designs with operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design safe and efficient drill and blast patterns
  • Monitor and maintain blasting schedules, records, and reporting systems
  • Work closely with mining and geology teams to align blast designs with operational goals
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in blast performance
  • Ensure compliance with site procedures, safety standards, and statutory requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Mining or similar relevant tertiary qualification from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mining engineering in open pit mines with a minimum of three years' site-based experience
  • Proven ability to deliver safe engineering solutions and improve productivity outcomes
  • Previous experience with blast design and modelling software (e.g. ShotPlus, BlastIQ) and mine design software (e.g. Vulcan)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping
  • A proactive mindset with a genuine desire to contribute to the team and drive business results
