Job Overview

This role plays a pivotal part in our organization by overseeing compliance and assurance processes. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for ensuring that all relevant requirements are met, and standards are upheld at the highest level.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Leading the multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with external and internal accountability requirements.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to facilitate performance improvement, ensuring the department meets its obligations.
  • Delivering high quality compliance and assurance services, building capability around governance requirements while meeting service commitments.
  • Upholding the highest standards of probity and integrity, ensuring processes are robust and able to withstand scrutiny.
  • Overseeing the implementation of the Project Management Framework, enhancing project management capabilities and ensuring project success across the organisation.
  • Planning and coordinating business continuity and crisis management processes, ensuring policies, procedures and guidelines meet international best practice and departmental requirements.
  • Implementing and complying with the Risk Management Framework, providing strategic risk advice and operational direction to the Executive Management Team and stakeholders.
  • Providing advice and assurance of internal controls, informing the Executive Team of new or changes to legislation pertinent to the department.
  • Managing the internal audit program, identifying potential compliance issues requiring remediation, audit or independent review.
  • Managing financial policies and procedures, including Financial and Administrative Delegations Policy and Schedule.
  • Facilitating accurate, practical, useful, timely and solution focused legal advice to the organization as required.
  • Providing direction and expert guidance to ensure compliance on procurement principles and processes, contract management, lease management and administration.
  • Overseeing records management, reviewing, analysing and redeveloping document and record keeping processes to increase the effectiveness of electronic document and information management functionality.

Mandatory Requirements / Special Conditions

A degree in law, audit and/or governance and previous experience in contract management and procurement, lease management and administration, internal audit and internal controls, risk management frameworks including risk profiles and treatment plans, project assurance and project progress reporting would be highly desirable.
