Data Center Operations Specialist

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong passion for data center operations and be eager to learn and grow within the field. As a Data Center Operations Trainee, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Maintain performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate change management requests and incident management tickets as directed.
- Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assist with the installation of racks and provide power/cooling within constraints.
- Be involved in routine maintenance and emergency services on various critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Assist and learn about the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
- Assist with the management of facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
- May participate in construction and operational meetings as required.
- Assist with work order compliance and review of contractual SLAs.
- Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
- Assist in resolving any infrastructure engineering or services issues.
- Interest in maintaining a data center or critical space facility.
- Facilities management mindset.
- Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Physical security protocol awareness.
- Computer literate, confident with Office Suite.
- This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift rack equipment; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Degree or technical degree (Cert IV) and relevant experience.
- Data center engineering/operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant discipline.
