Mechanical and Electrical Engineers Wanted

We have an urgent requirement for multiple engineers with electrical, mechanical or similar backgrounds to join a leading rail company in the development and delivery of rolling stock upgrades.

This is a 6-month contract with potential extension till mid-2026 and beyond. As key members of the engineering team, you will support all rolling stock project works within the business, focusing on design, development, integration, validation and maintenance of systems across multiple fleets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing activities while ensuring adherence to applicable processes, standards and best practices.
  • Creating technical documentation related to new and upgraded systems and components.
  • Providing technical advice, guidance and governance.
  • Developing and supporting inputs to risk assessments, FEA, FMECAs, FTAs etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics or related discipline.
  • RPEng certification mandatory; CPEng beneficial.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, CAD, FEA etc. for the Mechanical role.
  • Strong experience in electrical design, low voltage, 12 – 110V DC systems, basic control/switching, cabling, etc. for the Electrical role.
  • Experience in rail or heavy industries (Mining, Oil & Gas, Maritime, Defence, Aviation, Automotive, Automation, Manufacturing etc.) highly beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
