Job Overview

The Technical Supervisor is a leadership role that oversees the management of workshops and technicians, ensuring compliance with quality health and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of skilled technicians in managing workshop operations efficiently.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve operational performance and administration of assigned workshops and technicians.
  • Cultivate strong customer relationships through regular liaison and contribute to the development of new business opportunities.
  • Oversee scheduling and completion of site work to meet client requirements while maintaining high-quality services.
  • Supervise permanent and supplementary employees, providing guidance and support for their growth and development.
  • Conduct design, build, modifications, and maintenance of equipment while promoting innovative solutions.
  • Deliver comprehensive training plans and conduct safety inductions to ensure personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Purchase equipment, safety gear, and components for jobs and workshops, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required, including daily diaries, service job sheets, and costing against non-contract job numbers.
Requirements:
  • Hold relevant trade qualifications at C10 or above, such as Fitter & Turner or Fitter Machinist.
  • Display experience in leadership and management, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Exhibit exceptional service delivery skills, including client relationships, priority setting, deadline management, and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrate ability to work autonomously and within a team environment, sharing responsibility for 24-hour on-call service to clients.
