Safety Specialist

We're seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Coles Group. As a key member of our Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the overall safety performance of the CFC and associated Spoke network
- Create and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work with CFC operations teams and key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Ensure Coles has the right framework of controls in place to mitigate risk
- Represent the business to state regulators and industry bodies as needed
- Provide clear and accurate reporting insights and frameworks to leadership teams
- Evaluate business risk reduction plans to ensure effectiveness
- Demonstrate due diligence in meeting legislative responsibilities
- Implement and lead safety and wellbeing initiatives from the National Safety Plan
- Support the development and deployment of the CFC and Spokes future Safety direction and tactical initiatives
- Sound knowledge, skill, and experience in health and safety, critical risk reduction, traffic management, and transport safety
- Minimum 3 years working in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing, or automated environment
- Proven record of achieving results and leading change in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Clear demonstration of ability to incorporate safety requirements while considering commercially viable and practical solutions
- Proven record of providing technical expertise and coaching at all levels
- Minimum qualification – Cert IV in Health and Safety or related discipline
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities
- Effective communication and influencing skills, with strong attention to detail
