Transport Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Transport Safety Specialist to join our team at Coles Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and coaching to stakeholders and team members across the OCADO site in relation to transport safety.
Your key objectives will include ensuring key objectives are met, including van fleet and safe deliveries to our customers. You will also be responsible for:
- Providing sound knowledge, skill, and experience in health and safety, particularly critical risk reduction in yard management and on-road, traffic management, and transport safety.
- Minimum of 3 years working in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing, or automated environment.
- Proven record of achieving results and leading change within a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Clear demonstration of ability to incorporate safety requirements while considering commercially viable and practical solutions.
- Proven capability in developing safety plans and strategies that are aligned to business objectives.
About You and Your Skills
We are looking for an experienced Transport Safety professional who has experience in a developing environment with the ability to set up processes. You will also have:
- A Safety Degree or Cert IV/related discipline and/or Risk Compliance degree or Cert IV.
- Experience managing transport regulatory compliance.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities.
- Exceptional coaching, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to hold self and others accountable to raise the transport safety standards.
- The ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of team members and senior state leaders.
- Effective communication and influencing skills, with strong attention to detail.
- A proven ability with safety reporting and evaluating compliance to transform insights into frontline safety initiatives to address risk.
- Experience conducting driver debriefs for cycles of continuous improvement (optional).
