Job Title: Design Lead Engineer, Water Infrastructure

About the Role:

The opportunity to lead the design and technical delivery of major water infrastructure projects in Sydney has arisen.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large-scale water infrastructure projects from concept through to construction.
  • Oversee technical design development, ensuring compliance with project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Manage design risks, scope changes, and ensure quality assurance through independent reviews.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and approvals.
  • Prepare and present design documentation, reports, and progress updates.

About You:

You should have a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) and proven experience leading design teams on water infrastructure/treatment facility design and delivery projects. A strong understanding of Australian water industry standards and requirements is also required. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or working towards it is highly desirable.
