Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing maintenance tasks in the underground area, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair pumping and ventilation systems, as well as heavy industrial plants, to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Promote a safety culture by adhering to company values and procedures at all times.
  • Ensure equipment and plant assets are properly maintained, including UG and in-pit dewatering pumping systems, compressors, primary ventilation, refuge chambers, and fixed plant assets.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns on a callout roster basis.

Requirements

  • A relevant mechanical trade qualification, such as fitter and machinist, automotive or heavy diesel fitter, fitter welder, or similar.
  • Experience in maintenance of pumping and ventilation systems or heavy industrial plants, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Ability to work underground and in pit locations, as part of a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Computer literacy and possession of relevant high-risk licenses is highly regarded.
