About this opportunity:
This role is part of our maintenance team, based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Our team's responsibility is ensuring our equipment runs smoothly to support client needs. We are a cohesive global unit that work on rosters, with time onsite, time working from our office or home, and time off to recover and rest.
The team works closely with project managers, physicists, and is responsible for being our face to the customer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of equipment in Kalgoorlie, including mechanical, electrical, and software aspects.
- Scheduled monthly maintenance and responding to breakdowns on short notice to minimize downtime and maximize availability.
- Generating detailed reports about maintenance and repairs completed.
- Providing technical support service for installations via telephone, email, and remote computer login for troubleshooting and performance checks during and out of office hours.
- Training customers on the safe operation and basic troubleshooting of the equipment.
- Monitoring system performance and providing engineering solutions to improve design and operational problems on our units.
- Testing equipment for performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Supervising contractors and managing upgrades or repairs, ensuring all engineering specifications and protocols are followed.
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of processes associated with the maintenance of our systems.
- Supporting the development of a strong safety and inclusive culture, complying with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting, and safe work practices.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical equipment.
- A focus on safety first.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work within Australia, including at remote locations such as mine sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Familiarity with office productivity software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desirable requirements include:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering (electrical, electronic, or mechatronic) or a closely related technical discipline.
- Familiarity with the mining industry and mine-site operations.
- Customer Service and Field Service experience in the mining or mineral sector (or related) processing industries.
- Demonstrated experience in fault finding in electro-mechanical equipment.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical wiring and safety, power distribution, mechanical maintenance and repairs; basic electronics; metal-working; engineering drawing and design.
