Job Description

You will be responsible for purchasing site-related goods and services, sourcing suppliers to meet business goals, and supporting operations and maintenance sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving and responding to internal customer purchasing requests, ensuring all authorisation processes have been followed and contracts/production agreements have been signed prior to commencement
  • Facilitating the timely payment of supplier invoices for goods and services using a vendor invoice management system
  • Undertaking negotiations with selected providers, establishing agreed prices, availability, customisation possibilities, delivery schedules, warranties, payment terms and claims terms.
  • Expediting orders with suppliers and raising all necessary transactions in the procurement system and documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar purchasing support role within rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety-critical environment.

Additionally, you will require:

  • Advanced knowledge of procurement and inventory control methods and practices
  • Experience in contract negotiation and administration
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships
