
Funeral Service Administrator

We are currently seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, visitors, and telephone callers
- Maintain a welcoming and professional office environment by ensuring the reception area is tidy and well-presented
- Provide administrative support to the team through data entry, preparing letters and presentations
- Process payments, issue accounts, and associated correspondence in a timely manner
- Develop a deep understanding of service requirements with sensitivity to client needs
- Stay up-to-date with products and services offered and provide relevant recommendations to satisfy funeral service needs
- Accurately complete funeral documentation and ensure timely submission
- Clearly communicate costs and payment terms to clients
- Liaise with external service providers, such as clergy, florists, and suppliers
Requirements:
- Experience working in a customer-focused organization
- Proficient keyboard and computing skills, including telephone operation
- Able to effectively communicate with diverse individuals, both in-person and over the phone
- Sensitivity to people experiencing grief and loss, understanding their values and beliefs
- Strong interpersonal skills to thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Will to learn and benefit from training and development programs
- Able to respond empathetically to client/family concerns
- Comfortable discussing death and expressions of grief
- Proactive approach to supporting colleagues
- Status as a Justice of the Peace or eligibility for certification
- Current, unrestricted driver's license
