Senior Project Engineer


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead technical aspects of projects supplying large capital food processing equipment.

The successful candidate will act as the primary technical interface for customers, working closely with sales, project management, and service groups to ensure equipment meets expectations.

This is a key role in our organization, requiring strong leadership skills and technical expertise.


Responsibilities
  • Design and Development:
  • Create industrial food processing and packaging equipment models using Autodesk Inventor 3D software.
  • Draft equipment layout/installation drawings, piping and instrumentation drawings, and process flow diagrams in AutoCAD 2D software.
  • Review customer specifications, commercial documents, and internal standards documentation to determine project scope.
  • Project Management:
  • Organize and participate in peer review meetings to generate and review Risk Assessments.
  • Maintain design and customer drawing release schedules to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Support equipment fabrication progress through our factory.
  • Servicing and Support:
  • Work with field service groups to support equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning.
  • Travel as required to review equipment during construction and commissioning offsite.
  • Occasional travel to customer facilities for meetings and equipment troubleshooting.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or relevant experience.
  • 10-15 years' experience managing projects in food/diary/FMCG industries.
  • Knowledge of design and manufacturability (DFM).
  • Experience in food processing equipment is a plus, but analytical ability is most important.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in SAP is preferred.
