About the Position

This is a 12-month fixed term appointment for a Senior Legal Expert to provide technically excellent, risk aware and commercially sensible legal support to the business.

The Senior Legal Expert will take a lead role in managing the conduct and resolution of disputes and litigated matters, manage external disputes lodged with regulatory bodies, and effectively communicate with senior management/stakeholders around key legal issues and potential risks to the business.

About You
  • Australian legal qualifications and a current Australian unrestricted practising certificate are essential.
  • Experience acting or advising on litigation and dispute resolution is necessary.
  • Ability to constructively challenge, consult and advise, whilst maintaining solid relationships is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and legal practices are necessary.
Ideal Experience
  • 7+ years PQE experience in relevant subject matter areas is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of legal issues in financial services and life insurance is desirable.
  • Relevant experience and a proven track record in a financial services environment are highly valued.
