CYPS plays a crucial role in safeguarding children, young people and their families by providing support and justice responses.

The CYPS Practice and Performance team includes specialists who focus on:

  • Enhancing CYPS Operations
  • Maintaining and updating practice guidelines and the Integrated Management System to ensure quality service delivery
  • Audit and compliance programs
  • Liaising with the community and building partnerships through Health, Education & Community liaisons
  • Independent case conferencing chair
  • Facilitating Family Group Conferences

This position operates within the Out of Home Care Strategy, 'Next Steps for our Kids'. The CYPS Liaison Officer aims to improve coordination and collaboration between CYPS and non-government OOHC providers, working with ACT Health to enhance processes between organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide support to CYPS Operations
  • Quality assurance and continuous improvement of services
  • Audit and compliance management
  • Liaising with the community and building partnerships
  • Chairing independent case conferences
  • Facilitating Family Group Conferences

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or allied health
  • At least 5 years' experience working with children, young people and their carers or families
  • Current Driver's Licence
