About Aviation Leadership Role

RFDS SA/NT is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join their team as a Training and Checking Pilot. This role requires a high level of leadership, safety management, and operational expertise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and delivering flight training and checking programs that ensure safety, compliance, and excellence in all facets of our operations.

  • Reliable and responsive with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Self-motivated with substantial organisational and decision-making capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Passionate about upholding RFDS values of care, integrity, collaboration, and innovation.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • CASA CPL (A).
  • Current IPC (3 renewals).
  • Minimum 2500 total flight hours.
  • Minimum 2000 hours in command.
  • 200 hours of night flying experience.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Recent single-pilot IFR (within 2 years).
  • Confident decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a learning and safety culture within the organisation.

In addition to the above requirements, your application would be enhanced by:

  • Experience in operating aircraft in remote areas.
  • Experience flying Cessna C208B and Pilatus PC12 aircraft.
  • Knowledge of rural and remote Australia.
  • Current flight instructor rating.
  • Flight Examiner Rating.
  • Experience and training in emergency retrieval practices.
  • Experience in training and checking in Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) operations.
  • Experience operating a turbine engine aircraft.
