Flight Instructor Lead

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training Pilot to join our organization at the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.

As a key member of our aviation team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest operational standards within our organization.

  • Maintain safety, compliance, and excellence in all facets of our operations.
  • Oversee and deliver flight training programs.
  • Work closely with the Head of Training to ensure seamless execution of training activities.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A CASA CPL (A) qualification.
  • Current IPC (3 renewals).
  • Minimum 2500 total flight hours.
  • Minimum 2000 hours in command.
  • 200 hours of night flying experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Recent single pilot IFR (within 2 years).
  • Confident decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a learning and safety culture within the organization.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience operating aircraft in remote areas.
  • Experience flying Cessna C208 B and Pilatus PC12 aircraft.
  • Knowledge of rural and remote Australia.
  • Current flight instructor rating Flight Examiner Rating Experience and training in emergency retrieval practices.
  • Experience in training and checking in Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) operations Experience operating a turbine engine aircraft
