Job Opportunity: Building Design Expert

Join our team of skilled engineers to apply for a challenging role in building design and engineering.

The building design team provides comprehensive services to various sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, and residential projects. Our expertise is based on the utilisation of local knowledge and proficiency in concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber structures.

As part of the design team, you will work in collaboration with other principal and senior level engineers to deliver solutions across a wide variety of engineering projects. Primarily technical in nature, the role includes some project management and business development functions as required, along with opportunities to progress into a more senior role within the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of detailed calculations for building structural systems and elements
  • Operation of analytical models and contributing to running complex models
  • Preparation of sketches and technical reports
  • Review of structural documentation
  • Coordination of designs with other project consultants
  • Participation in internal design meetings and external meetings with clients and consultants
  • Site inspections and provision of observation reports and supporting engineering advice
  • Supporting and managing elements of projects
  • Contribution to bid and proposal development
Requirements:
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
  • At least 4 years of experience in building design and engineering practices
  • Client liaison experience
  • Capability to perform planning, concept, and detailed design
  • Based in Perth
