Northern Editor Position

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned journalist to take up the role of Northern Editor.

The position offers a chance to oversee four regional publications, including a prominent masthead in Western Australia and another in the North West.

As Northern Editor, you will be responsible for:

  • Gathering and writing original news stories for publication in print and online;
  • Developing positive relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Breaking news stories and creating engaging content;
  • Steering the editorial direction of the regional publications;
  • Interviewing and photographing subjects confidently and professionally;
  • Leading a small team of journalists;
  • Working collaboratively as part of a senior leadership team;
  • Representing the organization in a professional and courteous manner.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least two years' experience as a journalist;
  • Strong writing and communication skills;
  • An eye for detail, a head for news, and a hunger for the truth;
  • A sense of urgency and focus on deadlines;
  • A valid driver's license;
  • A passion for local news and community engagement.
