Highly skilled Boilermaker required for a challenging and rewarding role on our Ampol Future Fuels Project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical Australian infrastructure project, which will play a key role in reducing emissions and improving the environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding plate and/or structural steel items, such as tanks, pressure vessels, modules, pipe supports, and structural steel. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Constructing, assembling, and installing components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications with high precision.
  • Performing welding tasks using techniques such as FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW based on project requirements and material specifications.
  • Welding plate and structural components in sequence to eliminate shrinkage and distortion.
  • Interpreting engineering and detailed fabrication drawings, specifications, and standards to complete tasks accurately.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of colleagues.
  • Maintaining and caring for welding equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  • Collaborating with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management teams, to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Keeping detailed records of work performed, including daily weld logs, consumable logs, workpacks, and weld maps.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Engineering or a Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker) or equivalent. Work at Heights competency, Confined Space entry, and White Card are mandatory. Background experience in construction projects within the Oil & Gas industry is highly regarded.
