Urban Design Opportunities

This role offers a unique opportunity for a graduate with a strong interest in urban design to gain practical experience and mentorship within a local government setting. You will contribute to delivering excellent built form design outcomes for the City, including Masterplans, Design Guidelines, City Plan Policies and advocacy for design across the organisation and the community.

As a graduate, you will develop the foundational skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career in urban design. You will:

  • Contribute to architectural and urban design research and advice.
  • Develop and review design, landscape and place policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams and groups to ensure liveability is considered.
  • Support the City Design team's advocacy for improved architecture, urban design and landscape architecture outcomes.

Eligibility

To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a recognised bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program. You must also have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Graduate Urban Design welcomes graduates who have studied Bachelor of Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Master of Urban Design, Planning & Design, Urban Development & Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning (with an Urban Design major or strong design component), Architecture (with an Urban Design major); and related fields.
