Job Overview

Our organization is seeking a strategic advisor to lead the development of comprehensive asset management plans for products under sustainment within the Ground/Control and Space Segment.

This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:

  • Developing and implementing asset management strategies to optimize product performance and minimize obsolescence risks.
  • Reviewing existing performance metrics and recommending changes to align with strategic capability outcomes.
  • Constructing Product Breakdown Structures (PBS) for the Control segment to identify and organize products requiring support.
  • Updating Life of Type (LoT) assessments and advising on obsolescence management to support sustainment funding and potential life extension planning.
  • Providing recommendations to transition from fragmented contract activities to strategic industry partnerships, while identifying and mitigating limitations in data and analytical tools.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Strategic Asset Management Expertise - Proven experience in developing and implementing asset management plans within complex defence or technical environments.
  • Performance Metrics and Capability Planning - Ability to critically assess and redesign performance measures to align with strategic capability outcomes.
  • Analytical and Systems Thinking - Skilled in developing PBS, conducting LoT assessments, and applying structured analysis to inform sustainment and obsolescence strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication - Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse interests to organizational objectives and facilitate collaboration across Defence and industry partners.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation - Competence in identifying limitations in data quality, analytical tools, and predictive modelling, and formulating practical strategies to address and mitigate these constraints.
Additional Requirements
  • Due to the nature of the work, you must hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
